About the Company
Connected HHI was created by Joe Chappell to solve technology challenges that would benefit from new approaches and new solutions. The first problem that he targeted was intermittent loss of internet connections costing area businesses time and money. Our Always-On offering combined Cradlepoint failover modems, Verizon’s data network, and remote monitoring and management by Connected HHI. We rolled this offering out to dozens of restaurant, retail, and professional offices that can’t afford to lose internet connectivity and it has been a success from the start.
The next need that we identified was for enterprise class network security for businesses without the IT skills for installation and ongoing management. We combined industry leader Sophos with installation and remote monitoring by Connected HHI. The result is improved security for our customers without increasing complexity.
As our customer base grew, we were asked to help with IT support. After taking a look at how existing IT support was being handled, we spent time to create a better way to support our IT customers based on the same proactive model we used for networking and security. We partnered with Barracuda to create our managed IT services offering. This allows Connected HHI to proactively monitor and manage our customers’ networks, security, servers, and computers. We ensure that software updates are applied, vulnerabilities are patched, backups are completed, and symptoms are identified before they become problems.
Our partnership with Microsoft and App River allow us to offer Office365 as a managed service. We can add users, update subscriptions, and manage email from our offices for our clients.
We are a full service operation, we assess, recommend, install, and support.
About Joe Chappell
Joe started programming and playing with technology at age 12 and hasn’t stopped exploring. Joe’s roles have included programmer, IT Director, Director of Product Management, VP of Sales and Marketing, President, and four times a CEO. He has managed small startups to technology businesses with hundreds of employees in offices around the world. The technologies included business applications, business process integration, and distributed data management. The customers were primarily Fortune 100 companies, global financial services firms, and government agencies. After 30+ years in information technology and software and millions of air miles and thousands of hotel nights, Joe was able to escape from Boston to Hilton Head Island. In mid-2016, he began to seriously research the market for technology services on Hilton Head Island and the surrounding area. From that research came Connected HHI and the focus on tailored technology services for businesses in the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
